Mar. 1740-2, bapt. Jul.29,1746 @ No. Parish "on the promise of Joseph Neal to see to his education".

Capt. Daniel Arnold was a Revolutionary Soldier. He was elected a deacon of the First or North Parish May 3,1769. Resided on part of the old Neal estate on present Adams St. Quincy opposite Common St. He was elected fenceviewer 1763,1768, surveyor of highways 1766,68,71,74,75,1777, constable 1766, was on a committee of Observation & Inspection 1774, committee of Safety 1776, selectman 1777 to 1782, on the committee to hire men for the Army 1777 & to establish prices 1779. Was a Captain in the militia 1778, tithingman 1778 and Moderator 1778,79 and 1781.

S.P. 81-651 - Nov.5,1782: Jerusha Arnold made administrator of Daniel & bonded with Ebenezer Glover of Dorchester, yeoman & Ebenezer Adams of Braintree.

83-396, Apr.20,1784: Stephen Penniman made guardian of Elizabeth, Jerusha, & Elisha under 14 & bonded with Thomas Penniman & P.B. Adams.

85-59, Division of Daniel Arnold estate Oct.6,1785: To widow Jerusha, now wife of Capt. Joseph Baxter 18 a. called the Plain & 5 a. & 3 a. & 2 a. salt marsh & 3. a woodland near Bable. To son Joseph Neale Arnold eldest son the mansion house & barn & 5 a. on N. side of country road & 39 3/4 a. on S. side adjoining the way leading to Benjamin Savil's & to land of William Field & 2 a. salt & 3 a. wood & he to pay his sister Elizabeth £84 & brother Elisha £84. To Daniel Arnold second son of said Dea. Arnold 20 1/4 a. on S. side of country road opposite the mansion house & 3 1/2 a. woodland & 1 1/2 a. salt marsh & he to pay his sister Jerusha £84.

He resided in the old Arnold Tavern at Commercial St., north corner of Washington St. at Weymouth Landing or Washington Square says History of Weymouth. Also lived on present Quincy Ave., East Braintree, east side south of the river & north of the railroad now crosses the Avenue. His son in law Nathaniel Thomas lived here later. This house & 1/4 acre was set off to his widow as dower in 1806 "where Nathaniel R. Thomas now lives".
