Biography
Mary Milcah was the daughter of Benjamin Ludden and Esther Capen. Milcah was born on 17 Apr 1765. [1]She was the widow of Joseph L. Brown of Vermont when she married her second husband Daniel Gates in 1794. [2] Mary and Daniel had six children all born in Hopewell. [3]

Enos Ludden served during the American Revolution

Birth location uncertain; 1861 baptism record held by the Quincy Historical Society?
Served in American Revolution. Entered at Braintree, MA as a substitute for Micah Wilde in December 1777 and served until March. Enlisted again in November or December 1778 with Major Adonijah French for three months. Mustered at Boston under Captain Champrey, Lieutenant Jacob Speer. Guarded prison ships, discharged March 1779. Again enlisted as a substitute for Eleazer Beals, who served half his term. Began service October 1780 at Castlle Island under Capt Burback (Burbock?), Samuel Treat, Gunner Hinkley, and stayed at that place until February 1782. Discharged having served one year and ten months. He served with Jonathan Thayer, who provided an affidavit for Enos's pensionn application.
Enos Ludden, son of Nathanial Ludden and Anna (French) Ludden. was born 10 May 1761 in Braintree, Massachusetts. [1]
He died 29 August 1841 and was buried in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, Cattaraugus County, New York. Find A Grave: Memorial #76611362. [1]
