Ebenezer Vinson of Weymouth, yeoman, made his will 11 Jan. 1759 and it was proved 23 July 1764. In it he mentions his daughter Elizabeth Vinson; his brother John Vinson, late of Weymouth, deceased; his grandson Thomas Pratt, son of his daughter Mary Pratt, deceased, he to pay to each of his sisters by his own mother 40s at 21; his daughter Elishaba Tirrell; his granddaughters, daughters of his daughter Jane Tirrell, deceased, viz., Jerusha Bicknell and Sarah Vinson, Ruth Tirrell and John Tirrell, at 21, Jerusha Bicknell to pay Ruth L3 and Sarah Vinson to pay John L3; his daughter Hannah Tirrell and her children; his son-in-law Jacob Tirrell, executor, who presented the will for probate. (Suffolk Probate, 63:256.) James Fillebrown of Norton, administrator, de bonis non cum testamento annexo, 27 Feb. 1767. (Ibid. 65:524.) Division of the estate made 30 Mar. 1768; to widow Hannah Tirrell, Thomas Webb and his wife Elizabeth were assigned the real estate. (Ibid. 66:398.)

He was Capt. in the Trains - bands, and justice of the peace, was a farmer or husbandman, and was Deputy Sheriff in 1774. Resided near present Braintree Five Corners, on West St. east of the corners, on a place lately known as the Dailey Farm. He was a Revolutionary Soldier, raised a company that marched at the Lexington, Middlesex, Ma alarm Apr.19,1775 and served in the siege of Boston and marched to New York in the affair at Harlem Heights.
He was elected culler of staves 1760,1761, constable 1762,1767,1783, tithingman 1765, warden 1766, surveyor of highways 1767,1773,1783, hogreave 1768,1779, on the Committee of Correspondence and Observation 1775, Committee for hiring men for the army 1777, fenceviewer 1781,82, Moderator 1782,1786,1791, Tax Collector for Middle Precinct 1785, Committee to build the almshouse 1785, town Clerk and Treasurer 1787, School Committee 1790.
