He removed to Bridgewater with his father and resided there, but four of his children were baptized at No. Parish, now Quincy, at Christ Church, Episcopal.
He left a will dated Jun.1,1791 in which he mentions wife Hannah, son Enos, son Seth who received the homestead in trust for his children, his daughter Hannah Cary, single, daughter Molly wife of Sela (Silas) Howard.

He is often mentioned in records as Sydrach Thayer. He is not in the list of freemen of the colony and probably was not a church member. Deliverance Thear, widow, was admitted to full communion Feb.5,1692/3. He resided on his father's homestead on the westerly part and died intestate, his inventory showing a dwelling house, outhouse and orchards and land adjoining 12 acres, etc.

Simeon Thayer was a Revolutionary Soldier 1775-6. They owned the covenant at Randolph Church 1780 and were admitted to full communion 1799, and she was dismissed to the East Parish in 1819.
His will dated Oct.15,1805 mentions wife Olive and children Elisha, Isaac, Olive, "Leafy", Bathsheba, Angelina. Her will dated Oct.15,1824 mentions eldest son Elisha, youngest son Isaac, daughters, Olive Faxon, Leafy Orcutt and Angeline Linfield.

He resided in present Holbrook in the Brookville section on his father's place, was a farmer and very deaf says Dr. Alden. Simeon Thayer Jr. was surveyor of highways 1791.
