died Jan.16,1841 a.75 at Boston, at Deer Island (a.74 Wyman's Charlestown)(Jan.13, a.75 "formerly of Quincy (Quincy Patriot).
In 1798 he was living in Boston, also in 1804, in Lynn 1805, Charlestown 1812, was taxed 1806 in Quincy both for himself and for land of William Adams, was taxed in Quincy 1809,1810,1811 as of Charlestown, in 1814 as a resident of Quincy. He built a grist mill in Quincy at the foot of Pond St. about 1806. His will dated at Deer Island Jun.15,1838 mentions wife Elizabeth and the children (not recorded). It is said he also kept a hotel at Charlestown at one time.

died a.66 - (Columbian Centinel of May 16).
He removed to Boston in 1792 states the town record, and in 1798 occupied a dwelling on School St. Court. He died intestate and his estate was insolvent. It was administered by his only son Rev. Ebenezer Thayer of Brooklyn, New York
He was elected surveyor of highways 1787,1788, assessor 1790, on School Committee 1792 but a substitute was chosen later as he had removed to Boston.
