No settlement of his estate is recorded but he sold the east half of his house & 3/4 acres to his son Abraham Jr. Jul.7,1783 (S.D. 148-201). He was elected hogreave for Middle Precinct 1743, surveyor of highways 1750, constable 1778 but was excused for life from serving.
His mill is mentioned in town records in 1787. Lived where his son Abraham lived.

died a.62 "had been sick a number of years".
He was a Revolutionary Soldier 1775 etc., and she was a pensioner in 1840 (W. 19446). He resided on Washington St., South Braintree Square, at the curve on the N.W. side where his daughter Mrs. Gardner Penniman lived afterwards. The Penniman house now stands (1950) behind a gasoline station.

He left a will dated May 23,1818, proved Feb.9,1819 giving to his wife all the estate except as mentioned. To son Jonathan his half right in the saw and grist mills, to daughters Lydia Bowditch and Relief Penniman, to grand daughter, daughter of Sally Howard, deceased, and to sons Abraham & Jonathan the remainder.

Abraham Thayer Jr. was elected hogreave 1784.
