S.P.77-665, Jul.17,1778: John Vinton made guardian of Robert & Betsey over 14, Amos, Joshua, Jacob, Turner, Isaac & Phebe & Rhoda under 14, children of Amos Stetson of Stoughton, cordwainer, deceased & bonded with Samuel Niles Esq.

Indenture Apr.1,1780 between Daniel Arnold, Joseph White Jr., & Stephen Penniman.

Overseers of the poor in town of Braintree on one part & Ebenezer Thayer Jr. gent. of Braintree do assent and have "putt" out and bound Phebe Stetson a poor child of said town as apprentice to sd. Ebenezer Thayer Jr. & Rachel his wife with them to dwell and serve until said apprentice shall accomplish the age of eighteen years which will be on the fifteenth day of February 1793, etc. and to cause her to read & write, etc. and at end of sd. term shall allow to sd. apprentice two good suits of apparel, one for the Lord's day the other for working days. Witness: Azariah Faxon, Moses French.
