He was a blacksmith, became a foreman for Gridley Bryant, architect & engineer, lost an eye in an explosion, worked in So. Boston & Medford, returned to Quincy where he was killed by machinery. Was a blacksmith in 1850.

He lived on the W. side of North St. Randolph, north of Pleasant St. Isaac Spear Jr. served as constable in place of his father who refused in 1777. In 1786 he sold a house & 40 acres on South St. to Deering Spear and same day bought of him a house & 67 acres on the east side of North St. just north of Mill St. Randolph (S.D. 153-131 & 159-83).

Lived on Orchard & North Mains St., north of Liberty St. He was an inn holder and farmer. He was elected surveyor of highways 1767,1775, hogreave 1771, constable 1782 but excused, elected again 1783, on Committee of Safety 1783, assizor of bread 1784, surveyor of highways 1785,1790-2.

She was Lucy Grace L. Spears, sometimes Grace in the census rec`ds, & sometimes Lucy. She was born 1872, Quincy, Mass., according to her funeral card (which does not mention who her parents were), died January 29, 1962, at Hanover, Mass., at the home of her daughter, Elinor Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Joseph T.F. Burrell
"Weymouth---Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Daniel H. Clancy Funeral Home, 100 Washington Street, Weymouth Landing, for Mrs. Lucy G.L. (Spear) Burrell, 90, formerly of South Weymouth.
She died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pierce J. Fitzgerald of Hawthorne Road, Hanover.
The Rev. William E. Rasche of Trinity Episcopal Church, Weymouth, officiated at the service. Burial was in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
Mrs. Burrell was born in Quincy & moved to Hanover three years ago. She was the wife of the late Joseph T.F. Burrell.
In addition to Mrs. Fitzgerald, she is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Josephine Clark, of Norwich, Conn., Mrs. Winifred Mackay of Quincy & Mrs. Louise Wilcox of Randolph; a son, Charles P. Burrell of Hyannis; 21 grandchildren & 46 great-grandchildren."
