N.P.-: Will of Daniel Baxter Spear, yeoman, of Quincy, Jun.19,1822 - Aug.13,1822: To wife Temperance all furniture, etc. Remainder of estate to be sold and invested in some safe stock by executors & they to pay 1/3 of income for life to wife & 2/3 to my lawful heirs & she to be executor. Witness: Daniel Spear, Lemuel Brackett, Alpheus Spear.

Braintree V.R. give Rachel dau. of Deering & Deborah who was baptized Aug.18,1723, in which case David Spear had no wife Deborah -.
Child of David & Deborah born at Braintree (sic)
Rachel... Apr.9,1723, not mentioned in grand father's will. Probably error for dau. of Deering Spear.

Zeba Spear joined the Baptist Church in 1800, was made deacon in 1818 but in 1819 became one of the founders of the North Baptist Church in Randolph & gave the land where it now stands on N. Main St. He was selectman 1833 & 1834.

He was elected hogreave 1729, fenceviewer in 1732,1749, constable 1734,1735,1749, tithingman 1743, surveyor of highways 1755.
He lived on his father's homestead on North St., Randolph, east side, his house still standing (1952) has been removed to W. side of the road N. of Oak St., end to the road.
S.P.66-232: Will of Deering Spear, Sep.4,1767 - Dec.14,1767, yeoman:
To wife Jemima my wearing apparel, indoor moveables, my horse & 3 cows & improvement of west half of the dwelling house & 1/3 of real estate for life. To sons Deering & Richard all real & personal estate with wife's thirds, except indoor moveables equally divided saving that my son Richard & his heirs have the E. half of the house now & the whole of it at his mother's decease over and above the half of real & personal estate given him & son Deering, they paying my daughters Jemima Nightingale & Deborah Slone £8 each & my grand dau. Abigail Hunt £6/13/4 and my grandchildren Seth Man & Deborah Man 30/ ea. ch., Richard to pay the whole to Abigail above the half to the others. Son Richard executor. Witness: Nathaniel Wales, Samuel Chessman, James Penniman.

S.P.76-562: Will of Jemima Spear, widow, Jun.12,1770 - Dec.12,1777:
To son Richard my loom & tackling belonging. To dau. Deborah Sloan one cow & to my grandchild Jemima Nightingale the other cow. All remainder to be divided between my daus. Jemima Nightingale & Deborah Sloan except as follows: To grandson Dearing Spear my bible. To dau. Deborah Sloan my black petticoat. To grand dau. Abigail Hunt my worsted plaid gown, red cloak, velvet hood & my warming pan. If my grandson Peter Hunt return the bed I gave his wife at marriage which is a poor one & pay 13/4 to my dau. Sloan then my grand children to have my best bed, a feather bed but no bedding belonging. To son Dearing Spear my cheese press & two hogsheads & he to be executor.

He was a Revolutionary Soldier, resided in 1806 on east side of South St., Braintree Highlands near present Norfolk Co. Hospital. Deering Spear Jr. was elected hogreave 1757,1759,1764, surveyor of highways 1758,1763, fenceviewer 1768,1778,1780. From 1773 to 1786 he resided on North St. just N. of Mill St., Randolph.
N.P.-: Will of Deering Spear of Braintree, Aug.5,1806 - May 12,1812:
To wife Hannah.
Son Stephen, grandson Marshall Spear, daus. Hannah, Rachel, Elisse, grandson Lemuel Clark & son in law Timothy Thayer.
Codical - Feb.15,1812, what he had left to Marshall, he gave instead to grandson Freeman White.

died - (alive Dec.29,1787).
He lived on the N.E. corner of Pond Lane & Oak St., Randolph until 1762, was a cordwainer.
He was elected constable 1747,1753-6, 1759,1764.
Later lived further north on Pond Lane and sold the homestead to son Lemuel in 1769 (S.D. 108-158) & (116-48).
