This family lived in the South Parish.
He made his will 9 Dec. 1767, and it was Proved 18 Nov. 1768. To wife Sarah Porter use of dwelling; to son John Porter L4; to son Nehemiah Porter great Bible; to three sons John, Nehemiah and Joseph Porter all his estate equally, they to be executors. Witnesses: Ephraim Burrell, Jr., Peter Burrell and Jno. Holbrook. (Suffolk Probate, 67: 218.)
He married (1) (intention at Weymouth, 18 Dec. 1723) Mercy Randall, daughter of John and Susannah (Benson) Randall, born at Wey-mouth, 16 Nov. 1704. The Vital Records as published give the name at birth as Mary, and at marriage as Mercy, making it somewhat doubtful which name she bore.

He was elected surveyor of highways 1781, warden 1782, surveyor of highways 1785,1789, tithingman 1792. He was a farmer, lived on same place with his father in East Randolph says Dr. Alden.
