perhaps Pitts, as her mother was widow Elizabeth Pitts of Weymouth who died 1655, and administrator on the estate given to her daughter Elizabeth and her husband William Holbrook.

ELIZABETH PITTS of Dorchester signed a receipt 21 Nov. 1639. (Records and Files of Quarterly Courts of Essex County, 1: 12.)

She, or another person of the same name, was admitted to the First Church of Charlestown 13 Apr. 1643.

Administration on the estate of Mrs. Elizabeth Pitts, deceased at Weymouth, was granted to William Holbrook and Elizabeth, his wife, I Aug. 1655. The inventory was taken by John Whitmarsh, Thomas Bayley, Samuel Parker and James Nash, total, E16 61. 6d. Their account reads: "My Mother Mrs. Pitts oweth to me for attendance in her sickness of 26 weeks, 910." (Suffolk Probate, 3:26.) Therefore Elizabeth, the wife of William Holbrook of Weymouth, 1655, was a daughter of Elizabeth Pitts. The daughter may or may not have been born a Pitts.

JOSEPH PLUMMER of Weymouth, Norfolk, Mariner, died before 17 Dec. 1813, leaving a daughter Betsey then under 14. (Norfolk Probate, 14684.) Administration was granted to his widow Margaret, with William Wild, mariner, of Weymouth and John Newcomb of Quincy and Peter Bicknell of Boston sureties. 10 Aug, 1813. William Wilds was guardian to Elizabeth Gee Plummer, only child of Joseph Plummer. (Ibid. 14696.) She made choice of William Baxter, 13 May, 1823. She inherited property from Mary Torrey, late of Weymouth, widow, deceased, and was residing in Quincy 10 May, 1825. (Ibid. 14685.)

Samuel Badlam of Weymouth was appointed administrator of the estate of Temperance Porter, late of Weymouth, widow, deceased, with Robert Champney of Roxbury, gentleman, and Benjamin Loring of Boston, gentleman, sureties, 31 Jan. 1786. The inventory mentions "A note given by William Swan to Temperance Porter supposed to be the estate of her husband & given by his will to his three daughters. ... A Bible and other books 6s." Taken 4 Mar. 1786. (Suffolk Probate, 8S: 47, 214.)
