Administration on the estate of Joseph Lovell, late of Weymouth, housewright, deceased, was granted to John ?? of Plimpton, cordwainer, 18 Jan. 1754. (Suffolk Probate, 48: 65L) Personal estate set off to the widow. Estate insolvent. (Ibid. SO: 683-685.) He died before 18 Jan. 1754.

His will; quoted in part in History of Weymouth (3-413) was dated Jul.15,1690, as he was about to depart on the Canada expedition, mentions wife Eunice, eldest son Benjamin, sons John, James, & Joseph, daughter Eunice, brother in law Samuel Holbrook. The widow Eunice was administrator Jan.28,1690/1, and Samuel Holbrook had administration Apr.13,1693. Benjamin Ludden & Jacob Nash were made administrators cum testamento annexo Mar.20,1701.

S.D.40-122 - Edmund Ingalls of Rehoboth, housewright & w. Eunice give power of attorney to Benjamin Ludden of Weymouth to collect estate of hers as an inheritance of her grandfather James Ludden & uncle James Ludden of Weymouth, Sep.10,1724.
40-122 - Joseph Bagly of Providence, Rhode Island gives same power of attorney, Mar.5,1723/4.

All children except Abiah are named in grandfather Capt. John Holbrook's will Jul.12,1699.

He died, probably on the expedition to Canada, between 15 July, 1690, and 28 Jan. 1690-91.


Capt. Hunt of Weymouth of the Weymouth expedition, and Benjamin Ludden became a proprietor of Ashfield in 1739 as heir to . soldier who served under Capt. Hunt. (The Expedition to Canada, 1690 ' in Year Book of Society of Colonial Wars, 1898, p. 185.)

Benjamin Ludden of Weymouth "being now called fourth as a souuldier in this time of great distress for to fight the Lord's Battells; against the bloody enemies of the Chh & people of God in New England namely those Antichristian & Bloody ffrench together with those Bloody murtherous & Salvage Indians and Considering whether I may Returrie againe with my Life to see my parents, wife & relations , " made his will, 15 July, 1690. To his wife Eunice he gave all his housing lands in Weymouth or elsewhere for bringing up of his children. To eldest son Benjamin a double share at 21. To sons John, James, and Joseph, and to his daughter Eunice, each a share. His friend Jacob Nash, Sr., and rothe,~,,n I w Sam in-] w S u~ljolbroo" "i W n I overseers. Witnesse s: Joseph Dyer and William ard. n.=,a- tion granted to Eunice Ludden, widow, 28 Jan. 1690-91, (Suffolk Probate ' 8:23.) Samuel Holbrook, Samuel Whitmarsh, and Ezra Whitmarsh, all of Weymouth, gave bond in X170 for said Holbrook to administer upon the estate of Benjamin Ludden sometime of Weyrnouth, deceased, 13 Apr . 1693.qbid., New Series, 3:190.) Benjamin Ludden and , Jacob Nash, both housewrights, Joseph Drake, husbandman, all of Weymouth, and Daniel Willard, smith, of Bostpn, gave bond in E100 for said Ludden and Nash to administer cum iestamen to amwexo estate of Benjamin Ludden, late of Weymouth, deceased, father of above said Benjamin, 20 Mar. 1701.
